Pumpkin Cheesecake
I found this great recipe for some pumpkin cheesecake and it was a hit this Thanksgiving. I would recommend making it 1-2 days ahead of time, as it tastes better after it 'sits' for a day or two!
Pumpkin Cheesecake
Yields: 8 Servings
1-9" prepared graham cracker crust* (see recipe for the crust below)
2-8 oz. packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 pinch cloves
1 pinch nutmeg
whipped cream and caramel for garnish (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Blend in eggs one at a time. Remove 1 cup of batter and spread into bottom of crust; set aside.
3. Add pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg to the remaining batter and stir gently until well blended. Carfully spread over the batter in the crust.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 min, or until center is almost set. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for 3 hours or overnite.
5. Drizzle with caramel and top with whipped cream before serving.
*Graham Cracker Crust*
1 1/2 c. finely ground graham cracker crumbs (should be about 1 sleeve of grahamc crackers. Just place in ziploc baggie and crush with rolling pin)
1/3 c. white sugar
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional, but worth it!)
1. Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter and cinnamon until well blended. Press mixture into 8 or 9" pie plate or springform pan.
2. Bake at 375 degrees F for 7 minutes. Cool. If recipe calls for unbaked pie shell, just chill for 1 hour.
Pumpkin Cheesecake with Caramel and Whipped Cream (I used a 9" springform pan, next time I will use an 8" so it'll be thicker)...
Black Friday
Well, I was spared Black Friday shopping, but my hubby, Scott, was out ALL night! He left the house about 10:30p.m. on Thanksgiving and went to stand in line at Old Navy for a free copy (with $20 purchase) of Lego Rockband. They didn't even open till 3 a.m., but he was there with a buddy and they seemed to have a great time. After Old Navy, it was off to Wal-Mart to get Rockband (we don't have the drums, mic, etc). He came home around 5:20 a.m., showered, had breakfast, then went back out to get a game at Game Stop and then off to work at 7:30 a.m.! Poor guy was up for over 30 hours! He came home midday and slept till 4:30 last night. Pretty comical! Next year we will be up and at 'em early for a new flat panel tv. It wasn't in the budget this year, but will be next time!

My first orders...
Well, I had two orders this week-yay! One is from a neigbor who wants a Christmas tutu for a friend's daughter. It will look like this tutu, but have red instead of burgundy:
The second tutu is for my son's preschool teacher. Her daughter is going to a friend's birthday party in a few weeks and they picked out this tutu:
Just registered with Etsy
I just registered on Etsy with my own store. For those of you who aren't familiar with Etsy, it is a wonderful online 'marketplace' for those who handcraft their own items that they wish to sell to others around the world! This works perfect for me, since all my tutu's are made from scratch. Check out the site, you will find LOTS of items from wonderful artists all around the world. My etsy address is http://www.tutubug.etsy.com/ . It has all the tutu's on there that my website does...

First Photo Shoot
I had a wonderful time at my first tutu bug photo shoot today! My dear friend was nice enough to allow her two daughters to model for me for about an hour while I took 400, YES 400, shots of her girls :). They did a wonderful job and were both very excited to get 'paid' with a tutu of their choice at the end of the photo shoot. They had a great time and I can't wait to photograph them more as I expand my line in 2010! Here are some shots we took today...

First craft show today
Well, I had my first craft show today. Unfortunately we got rained on so all of the vendors had to pack up and head home early. Due to the weather, there was a very poor turnout, but those who did come, seemed to love the tutu's :). Here's a pic of me with my tutu's before the weather got nasty...
Check out all those tutu's!
The sky looks blue, but that didn't last for long!
